„Korrektheit der Werke, anständige äußere Gestalt, angemessene Preise und zweckmäßige Einrichtung ihrer Herausgabe sowie eine gerechte und ehrenhafte Behandlung und Entschädigung der Autoren zur Bewahrung ihrer geistigen Würde und Freiheit ...“ verlangte Friedrich Christoph Perthes von den Verlegern in seiner 1816 veröffentlichten Schrift über den Buchhandel.

„fa-gisis“ glaubt, diesen Anforderungen mit der vorliegenden Publikation zu entsprechen. Andererseits sollte der Verleger heutzutage vom Publikum die Beachtung und Einhaltung des Kopierverbotes erwarten können; und dies nicht nur deshalb, weil es illegal ist, sondern weil durch Kopieren die Fortführung vieler Projekte und die Herausgabe weiterer Druckerzeugnisse unmöglich gemacht werden.

„Accuracy of the works, a decent outward appearance, suitable price and an effective editorial concept, together with the just and honourable treatment and remuneration of the authors in order to protect their intellectual work and freedom...“ is what Friedrich Christoph Perthes demanded from publishers in his essay about the book trade which was published in 1816.

On the other hand, the present-day publisher should be able to expect the general public to take notice of, and respect, the prohibition placed on copying; and this not only because it is illegal, but also because copying makes the continuation of many projects and the publication of further printed matter impossible.

„Des oeuvres correctes, une réalisation soignée, des prix appropriés et une présentation convenable à leur edition, ainsi qu’une rémunération équitable et honnête des auteurs, préservant ainsi leur liberté et honneur intellectuels ...“ tel était ce que Friedrich Christoph Perthes exigeait des éditeurs dans sa publication parue en 1816 sur le commerce des livres.
